In 1996, a group of community volunteers organized the first Orillia Spring Blues Festival. This three day event at the end of April brought music lovers from far and wide into bars and restaurants each year. The programming included various workshops for young and old, from guitar building to playing the harmonica, movies on the blues, oral history of the blues, tributes to Ray Charles and New Orleans. The festival culminated with a blues jam session with a house band and open to any musician who wanted to participate to the delight of everyone in attendance.

June 12-14, 2009

New & Pre-owned boats of all shapes and sizes make up this show, from inflatables to offshore performance; fishing boats to cruisers. Started in the early 1990's to handle the large pre-owned boat market, this event is now established as an effective trade show for both the industry and private sector. This is one of the few shows offering private owners an opportunity to sell their boat. Cost, location, time of year, and in-water access for testing all contribute to the success of the Spring Boat and Cottage Show.
